I rarely eat lunch at the office (and therefore can knit or read something), usually I go out to escape the sealed windowed office building. Regardless, my bag (Namaste Zuma) tends to be a tote-all to be unloaded each day once I reach the office. Not sure if getting stuck the other weekend in the elevator (between floors 10 and 11 thank you!)the one time I had nothing with me or that I really was raised to "be prepared", but last week was a "eat in" week so I was definitely prepared for anything!
Here's the bag right after I walked into the office:
And here's it all laid out:
Clockwise top left: book, knitpicks catalog, handwoven magazine, circa (aka my life!), blackberry charger, spindles, badge, glasses, CT Cream (wonderful stuff!), cowl project, pumpkin hand cream, nail file, hair sticks, bare escentuals mascara and lipstick, vitamins/drink mixes/tea/emergen-c, tide stick, arnica gel, essential oil, hair holders, jump drive, lavender essential oil, gum, ipod, bare escentuals foundation and mineral veil, more vitamins, wireless mouse, keys, wallet.
And a close up on the spinning and knitting projects
Left to right, tussah silk, cashmere cowl, bamboo.

Yeah, no wonder my back was bugging me. Don't assume I will have all this stuff with me at all times, but there's a good chance I will have a lot of this nearby!

I just came across your blog! What a hoot! I loved seeing the dying process that you posted!
The contents are different, but your bag looks about as packed as mine when prepared for an hour long outing with the kids. I do need to be prepared right.....right?
Holy heck, Shell, you and I sure are birds of a feather! I have the same pumpkin hand cream, the same arnica gel, drink mixes, teas, etc., as well as knitting, books, what-have-you in my bag as well. I, too, believe in "being prepared."
Do you like the Zuma? I've just ordered the new GINORMOUS bag and mini-clutch from Dreamweaver. Can't wait til they ship!
