Another Sunday Check-in

Quote for the day, found at Notes from A Cottage Industry:

There is always, always, always something to be thankful for.

With everything that is going on in this crazy world, it is a good reminder to get my head out of my own drama and get on with things. I am incredibly blessed in this world and thankful for it.

Like every Sunday, I have a huge list of things I want to accomplish. A list has been magnified by a weekly trip to the vet oncologist in another town, so one less workday at a busy time for work, and one less day for me to do things that don't involve sitting in the car. Saturday was kind of a waste, I had guild activities that were sideswiped by a dead battery. So most of my afternoon was spent at the dealership getting the oil changed and replacing the battery. Just gotta say, Honda Roadside Assistance has AAA beat for response time that's for sure.

I've had some carpal issues this month, but have still worked on a couple of things:

On the knitting front, a new scribble lace shawl that I started around Thanksgiving. Fleece Artist discontinued my favorite yarn for this item, Merino Boucle, but they have a newer yarn called Slubby Blue. It is a thick and thin single yarn that while it isn't as squishy soft as the Merino, it has those wonderful color variations that are pure Fleece Artist.

And my Iris Window Garden is coming along nicely. The majority of the cross stitching is done, so I started on the backstitching. It never ceases to amaze me how much of a difference backstitching makes! In this case it is even more so as I used silk threads for the stitching and the backstitching is in a metallic thread. Not obvious in this picture, but take my word for it!

OK, time to tackle this ridiculous list! Hope you have a wonderful week!!
