Playing with String
The ramblings of a crafty girl living in the South.
Knitting, spinning, cross stitch, embroidery, weaving.... you name it, I might be doing it!

Got the card reader, but the camera has moved.
So, imagine if you will, a wonderous merino/silk blend of purple plyed with another merino/silk blend of pink. 117 luscious yards of it.
And about 60 yards of a beautiful mango merino/silk blend.
A shawl of silk rumple in the works, of my own design.
And a large black and purple bag to felt.
I have been looking at this selling my handspun more seriously. I'd actually like to dye yarns and rovings too.
Gah, I so need to get organized!

If I sold my handspun......what would I charge?
Could I make enough to buy a drum carder?
Maybe another wheel too?
Hmmm, guess my minds off getting a loom now!
P.S. - New card reader will be purchased tomorrow, because this is just nuts!

I've never been a "put it all out there" kinda person - until I get to know someone I'm pretty quiet. And given I am a mid-thirties professional type in a fairly conservative environment, I look pretty darn conservative! So these two factoids makes a lot of people tend to make a lot of assumptions about who I am and what I think.
Can you imagine the look on the Borders guy's face when I told him I was having trouble finding a book called Domiknitrix? (yes, I told him with a straight face) And how relieved he seemed to get when I spelled it? (ok, I winked then)
Borders guy couldn't find their "1" copy. So I didn't get it. Though I'm thinking I should have picked up a copy of naughty needles for fun while I was at borders (they had 3 copies).

Sortof......It's been a little distracting for me lately. A lot of activity. Not trying to sound melodramatic or anything, but trying to implement my aspirations for 2007 in combination with some stressors, has resulting in me thinking about a lot of things. But then again I tend to overthink things. And be dramatic.
In fibery news, I'm still knitting. Been spinning a lot too. Even bought some fiber. Still thinking about a loom, though I probably should learn about weaving first.
Right now, I'm working on the fun fur hats.....or muppet heads as I like to call them. I'm on #3. And I'm working on a sock. Both require very little attention so they are perfect for my distracted state.
That's all for today, I have some laundry to change over and then I am off to bed!
